What is Primary Packaging?
On February 17, 2021 by adminIf you are looking for a better packaging system to promote your product inside the store or on an online auction site, then you need to know what primary and secondary packaging is. In this article, we will look at primary packaging. When a customer enters the store to purchase a product, they usually look first for the basic product inside the store like soap, toothpaste or a facial cleanser. This is why it is very important for a seller to know how to pack these products properly in order for them to sell well.
Most of the time, the product that is displayed in the store is packed with the standard cardboard boxes that are common in most stores. However, there are many cases when the store will use cartons or bubble wrap. This means that the cardboard that is used for primary packaging will not protect the product well and the bubble wrap might fall apart revealing sharp edges that can cut the customer’s hands. There is no guarantee that the store will use cartons for shipping, but it would be a good idea to use them if the store will not be using bubble wrap.
The next thing to do is to consider the size of the box that should be used for shipping. It should be large enough to accommodate the product and it should be sealed well for protection. Packaging experts recommend using thicker packing paper when shipping. The newspaper might weigh a bit, but it can protect the items inside from heavy objects and other harsh elements in the environment. Boxes that are too thin can break easily, but it would be better to choose a standard size box rather than a thin one. The box should also have a lid to keep things inside and prevent them from moving about while in transit.
Sometimes, the store will use corrugated boxes that are commonly used as packing materials. These boxes are ideal for shipping because they are very sturdy and they are also very affordable. When choosing a corrugated box, you should make sure that the width is at least nine millimeters and the height should be at least fifteen millimeters. Most corrugated boxes are stacked on top of each other, so they should be at least sixteen millimeters tall, six millimeters deep and the bottom should be thick so that the product inside does not slip.
A clear plastic tube that is about two millimeters wide is an excellent option when considering what is primary packaging material. This type of container is perfect for shipping, because the lid of the tube does not need to be opened while the item is being shipped. It seals tightly and it looks professional. Plastic tubes are inexpensive and they are available in a large variety of colors. There are even some color-coordinated tubes, which can look nice for a promotional item.
What is the primary packaging material? Knowing all of the options can help you decide what type of material to use for your business’ shipping. Corrugated boxes, tubes, clear plastic tubes, heavy duty tape and bubble wrap are all primary packaging materials that can help your business.
